The use of Facebook has became much more than just making friends. It has brought social networking to a while new level. Even enterprises and companies are starting to join this networking to increase their visibility and exposures. Here are 10 things you may not know about Facebook.

  1. Some time ago, Facebook quietly introduced an algorithm that throttles your updates so that no more than 16% of fans see your messages. This means that not all your Facebook fans are seeing all your updates.
  2. Reach Generator is a service available for premium managed accounts that makes it possible to regularly reach and engage up to 75% of your fans with meaningful content from your page and uses a fixed-fee price structure based on the number of fans your page has.
  3. The new Facebook Timeline went into effect on December 22, 2011.
  4. The size of the new Facebook Timeline Visual Strip at the top of your profile page is 850 x 315 pixels.
  5. Facebook originated from Harvard and was created by Mark Zuckerberg along with his college roommates and fellow students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
