Firefox is an excellent browser, and I’m saying this as someone who uses over 24 different Web Browsers (site compatibility testing). There are many great browsers that come with tons of add-on features, but I have always liked to run as few add-ons as possible. I have always returned to Firefox, even if I find a new, great Web browser. Firefox supports thousands, if not millions of add-ons, themes, etc., and it is fairly good at managing it’s memory. Before I get into the Firefox Alert tips, may I recommend a little piece of software that I have found to be very useful… It’s called Firemin, it’s Free, and it’s for download here: http://www.datum-forensics.com/down/firemin.exe
And now, here are a few Firefox tips for disabling Alert Windows:

- Open Firefox, type “about:config” (without the quotes) in the URL bar and press the Enter key. NOTE: If you see a warning, confirm that you want to access the page.
- Using the Filter bar at the top of the browser, locate the following preference key: browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete
- Double-click that key to toggle it’s value to False, and then restart Firefox.
Turn off the Download Manager window when downloading a file:
- Open Firefox, click on the Upper Left Firefox Menu button (Orange Button) or use the Tools dropdown menu and click Options.
- From the Options window, select the General tab.
- Uncheck the option under Downloads: “Show the Download window when downloading a file”
- Uncheck the option under Downloads: “Close it when all downloads are finished”
Close the Download Manager window when all downloads are complete:

- From the Options window, select the General tab.
- Check the option under Downloads: “Show the Download window when downloading a file”
- Uncheck the option under Downloads: “Close it when all downloads are finished”
Turn off the Out-of-date and Missing Plugin Firefox Warnings:
