Use 2 Paging files for Maximum Performance, 1 on the C drive and 1 on a different hard drive

  1. Right-click Computer in the Start Menu.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Click Advanced system settings on the left side of the System window.
  4. Click the Settings button in the Performance section of the Advanced tab.
  5. Select the Advanced tab in the Performance Options window.
  6. Click the Change button in the Virtual memory section.
  7. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
  8. Highlight the C drive, select system managed size, and then click the Set button.
  9. Highlight the second drive, select system managed size, and then click the Set button.
  10. Click OK and then restart your computer to apply the changes.

Uninstall Programs You Don’t Use

  1. Click on the Start Menu, then open the Control Panel.
  2. Under the Programs category, click Uninstall a Program.
  3. Select the programs you don’t use and uninstall them.

Run CCleaner to Cleanup Temporary Files, Junk Files, etc.

  3. Click Analyze, then select Clean.

Defragment Your Hard Drive With Defraggler

  1. Download Defraggler here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler
  2. Install and Run Defraggler.
  3. Select the drive you wish to defragment and click Defrag.

Optimize Services Using Vista Services Optimizer (Compatible With Windows 7)
